Meeker Park site opens May 4
Boulder County will open the Meeker Park community forestry sort yard on Tuesday, May 4 (weather dependent). For the third year in a row, residents of Boulder and Larimer counties can use the site at no charge to drop off trees and slash from private lands. The sort yard will remain open through mid-July.

Boulder County Meeker Park Community Forestry Sort Yard to reopen in May
Community Forestry Sort Yard 2010 operation schedule: The Meeker Park CFSY, located on the Peak-to-Peak Highway near Meeker Park, will reopen to private forest landowners in early May and will operate until mid-July. The site, serving north Boulder County and southern Larimer County residents, will operate Tuesday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The new Nederland CFSY, located on Ridge Road just north of Nederland, is anticipated to open in early August and will operate into October. Hours for this site, serving southern Boulder County residents, have not yet been determined.
Red Feather Lakes Sort Yard to Close 10/24
The Red Feather Lakes sort yard will close for the season at 4:00 p.m. Saturday 10/24.

Meeker Park not accepting hot wood after July 18
Boulder County's site will not accept pine-beetle infested after July 18. The county will have a site open for the public to dispose of hot wood following the end of the beetle flight in mid-September. The Meeker Park site is also closed on July 3 and July 4 for the holiday.
Local wood collection sites go high tech in Ips beetle mitigation
Front Range wood collection sites are looking a little high-tech in an experimental and operational effort to limit tree mortality from a lessor-known bark beetle, the Ips beetle (Ips pini).
