2009 Fuel Wood Permit Sale - Saturday, August 22, 2009

Permits for the 2009 Fuel Wood Sale will be available on Saturday, August 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Open Space Offices, 700 Jefferson County Parkway in Golden, CO. Wood pickup begins the weekend of September 12 and 13. Forest management activities at Alderfer/Three Sisters and Elk Meadow Parks in the Evergreen area produced decks of timber that will be sold to the public through the following process:
1. Permit sales will occur on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 700 Jefferson County Parkway in Golden beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Permits will be for either Alderfer/Three Sisters or Elk Meadow Parks.
- Compact Pickup/Trailers under 4' x 6': $20 per permit
- Standard Pickup/Trailers over 4' x 6', max 6' by 8': $25 per permit
- Maximum trailer size 6' x 8' due to turn around limitations and site constraints.
2. Multiple discounts no longer apply.
3. Maximum: Four permits per person. No permits will be sold on site at the parks. Unredeemed permits are not refundable. Plan accordingly.
4. Unsold permits will be available for purchase in person at the Open Space offices beginning Monday, August 24 during regular business hours (Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
5. Wood sale permits are assigned a two-hour window to load lengths of timbers and haul away. Wood pickup dates are Saturday and Sunday starting September 12 and 13; September 19 and 20; and September 26 and 27 or as long as the wood lasts.
6. Permit holders are required to have their own chainsaw or saws, fuel, appropriate tie-downs or covers and a truck/trailer. Four-wheel drive vehicles are recommended.
7. Cash and personal checks (MADE PAYABLE TO: JEFFERSON COUNTY TREASURER) accepted for fuel wood permits. No credit cards.
